The Loudoun Middle School Travel League, in partnership with Loudon County PRCS, is intended for middle-schoolers looking for a higher-level of competitive play. DYS Middle School Travel League teams represent Lunsford, Mercer, and Willard Middle Schools.
ALL players who wish to play for their respective middle school team must register for our recreational league and attend the recreational tryout. Players who receive qualifying score through our evaluation process will be invited to try out for the travel team.
Teams are formed by Middle School and compete against other Middle Schools in Loudoun County. Each middle school could have up to five (5) teams to represent their middle school as follows:
- Girls:
- Varsity (Typically 7th and 8th Graders)
- JV (Typically 6th and 7th Graders)
- Boys:
There are two (2) preseason games (typically the weekend prior to Thanksgiving) and 10 regular season games, typically played on Sunday, with occasional Saturday or weeknight games. The game schedule is developed and managed by Loudoun County PRCS on their website.
Players must attend the Middle School they play for to participate on one of the Middle School’s teams. There will be no combining of players from different middle schools to form teams.
- Exception: An individual who attends a private school may play for a team registered in the league, provided the player resides in the attendance boundary of the public school of which they would attend
- Exception: A fifth grader may play on a 6th grade or JV team registered in the league, provided the player resides in the attendance boundary of the school in which they are playing for, and the team does not remove a 6th grader from the roster in favor of a fifth grader (12 player maximum).
Players cannot play in both House and Middle School Leagues. Players cannot play on both a High School team and a Middle School team.
