Assistant Coaches
Experienced and inexperienced volunteers welcome! Experienced athletes can support specific skill development, while we need inexperienced volunteers to help direct athletes to where they need to go during practice and meets, encourage athletes to push outside their comfort zone, and help with timing athletes at practice.
What’s the Commitment?
- Two (2) to four (4) practices per week (1 hour)
- Attendance at the meets on weekends
- 1 preseason coaches orientation
- Successfully pass a background check

Be on the Board
Members of the DYS Track and Field Board are important members of our community who help support the operations of a successful season!
What’s the Commitment?
The time commitment will be dependent on the role and can typically be done on your during a time that best aligns with your schedule:
- Treasurer: responsible for managing the budget and making payments for equipment and meet registration
- Registrar/Scheduler: responsible for successful registration for DYS Track and Field and for registering athletes for their respective events for each meet
- Athlete Engagement Coordinator: responsible for managing our social media accounts to increase the visibility of our program in the community and organize team events, such as a year end party
- Uniforms Coordinator: responsible for coordinating the uniform website, ensuring each athlete has ordered a uniform, and distributing gear as needed
- Fundraising Coordinator: responsible for setting fundraising goals, coordinating sponsorship program to include getting sponsor logos on appropriate signage, and identifying and coordinating additional fundraising opportunities
